Robert noticed Mateo's confusion and decided to help him. He walked with Mateo to the station and showed him where to buy a ticket. They went downstairs and looked at the subway map together. Mateo asked several questions, and Robert answered each one slowly. They waited for the train, but when it arrived, Mateo accidentally entered the wrong car. Robert shouted his name and pointed at the correct door. Mateo jumped out just before the doors closed. They both laughed. Mateo felt embarrassed, but Robert smiled and said that even New Yorkers sometimes made mistakes on the subway.
